Iran Air Force to manufacture fighter trainer aircraft

TEHRAN – The Air Force plans to manufacture fighter trainer aircraft, Air Force Commander Hassan Shahsaffi announced on Wednesday.

Shahsaffi said the Islamic Republic is currently manufacturing fighter aircrafts including Saeqeh and Azarakhsh.
Saeqeh (thunderbolt) is Iran’s first domestically-manufactured fighter.
Saeqeh is a single-seater fighter jet. It is the second generation of Azarakhsh fighter. Saeqeh fighter planes tested successfully in Iran in September 2007. The Saeqeh is a joint product of the country’s Iran Air Force and Ministry of Defense.
Speaking to IRNA news agency, Shahsaffi also said Iran’s Air Force is one of most capable air forces in the region
